Most of the specimens we use are collected in Big Sur, directly south of the Monterey Peninsula on the California coast.  Big Sur offers some of the finest specimins of nephrite jade available coming in almost all of the colors of the rainbow from deep blues to rich reds, striking greens to the rare whites.

Jade Hunt hand carves all of their own jade  jewelry; no jade is outsourced to carvers in China which many of our competitors use to offer jade at lower prices. As jade is one of the hardest natural stones on Earth, it is very time consuming to carve and polish.   Jade artists will take many hours, days, or even weeks to turn a rough jade stone into a masterpiece which one can wear.

Big Sur jade is our favorite stone to carve and work with yet we do offer other specimins of jade which have been purchased at various trade shows and from other jade collectors.
